Finished Baby Quilt for a Little Girl
2 Attachment(s)
Hi ...I just finished this baby quilt- no grand-kids yet but hope they will take the hint anyway lol
I had one major problem in that there was a bit of buckling with the outside edge..what would cause this?..is it the binding or did I use too wide an outside edge to finish. The quilt is 40 inches by 50 inches. I still have a long way to go but absolutely love quilting-even if I did come into it late-I still darent show my husband how much of a fabric stash I have !! Only been quilting for about 6 months or so-oh goodness! |
How very pretty! Love the butterflies and your quilting is fabulous! I have had the same issue with borders and I talked to my LQS and they told me the best way to do borders is to measure your quilts exact size and cut your borders to that length. Then sew them on making sure they fit the quilt. I have not tried this yet but plan to do so on my next project.

Love the fabrics, colours and above all the exquisite quilting. Are you sure it's been only 6 months? Wow, you are a born star! As for the size of the stash and the husband - my mom says men should not know everything.

Your quilt and quilting is beautiful! I find straight of grain binding lies flatter than bias binding. With straight of grain binding because it is more stable, you can use it to ease in a little extra fullness sometimes. I also use double fold binding because it has more weight and kind of acts as a frame for my quilts.

Beautiful. I just made 12 blocks with the tube method. Have been trying to figure how to set it together. This gives me another idea. Thanks for sharing.
