Cinnya, I love your quilt, your colors are absolutely stunning! Our Wal-Mart only stocks cut lengths of a few fabrics, don't think they have those. To the ladies who have spray-basted quilts with fleecy backings, did this solve the problem? I'd love to make one but am afraid of getting poor results.

I didn't have any problems once it was spray-basted to the top - and it's so thick and squishy it hides your stitches on the back, which most often for me is a very good thing!

I tied the ones I do had no problem yet and they have been washed many times already

Love the look of your quilt from here! So just so I understand, you FMQ this with your feed dogs up? You only pinned andid not spray baste? You used polar fleece? The reasons for all the questions is my daughter would like me to make her a throw with minke on the back. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks for your post.

Yup that is what I did.:)....I keep the feed dogs up on all my FMQ. For me it just works better, the stitches are more consistent and I get better results. This is just my personal opinion. That said I am going to practice some with the feed dogs down when I use fleece, I want to see if it shifts the backing.
Everybody gave me such good advice so I cant wait to make another one. This time I will definitely spray baste and pin.

I am making my label now for the quilt and I am calling it.........:o MURPHY :D:D

It looks so soft and warm.

The quilt is beautiful, love the colors. That fabric is beautiful.

I just had a cotton quilt top finished with a fleece backing, and I will think twice before doing that again, it did not turn out as nice as just using cotton batting with just cotton fabric on the back.

It is a pretty quilt. I have avoided using fleece for that reason!

Beautiful color combinations.

Your throw is beautiful. You did a good job, and learned what not to do next time. Sorry, to hear that Murphy moved in with you. He lived with me for awhile.
