Your quilt is beautiful! Do you cut your strips to size, or do you cut width of fabric strips and sew and trim as you go? I still have not made a log cabin quilt, but it is on my to do list. I can't decide which method to use.

I'm curious what method you use, too. Cutting your strips to exact size or sewing and trimming. Love your quilt!

Stunning quilt. I'm collecting fabrics for a floral log cabin right now. I fell in love with this block when I saw the first one here on the QB. Good job. Keep up the good work. Are you using the new log cabin ruler?
No new rulers, just a 6" X 24" and I put a strip of blue painters tape at the 1 1/2" mark the full length of the ruler so I can just sort of drop it into place to make my cuts. It goes much quicker and easier that way! |

That is stunning! I love the contrast in it. It gives it such an impressive look. Well done! You have inspired me to try making one someday :). Did you follow a particular pattern maker?
I also watched the Eleanor Burns video here: http://quiltinaday.com/theater/25th/2501.html and got lots of good tips on making log cabin blocks. She's quite the character! |
Thank you for sharing those wonderful blocks. I love the florals!
