Free Easy Charity Quilt Pattern Here
1 Attachment(s)
We needed another quilt pattern for our Quilts For Kids Milwaukee Chapter sewing day. Our next one is the second Saturday in February. We sew at Bigsby's Sewing in Elm Grove, WI if you are in the area and would like to join us. Here is one of the patterns we are handing out. I made it to be really easy. It is made of 2 blocks: HST and four patches.
You can make these any size: We are using charm packs for this one. Since our charms are 5", I made this to use 4 7/8 squares (we will just use the 5"). You draw a line, on the diagonal, corner to corner. Stack to squares, RST and sew 1/4 " away from the drawn diagonal line, on either side of the line. Then cut apart on the drawn diagonal line, and you will have 2, HST. Trim to 4.5".
For the four patch units, cut strips that are 2.5". Sew two strips together and repeat with other scrappy strips. Join to form 4 patch that measures 4.5" square with seam allowances.
If you look at the quilt, it is 4 blocks by 4 blocks. Each bock is made of 2 HST and 2, 4 patch units. The beauty is in how you arrange them. Scrappy is pretty too. Hope you enjoy the free pattern. Have a nice weekend.
