I truly thank all of you for your kind words and lavish compliments.
First, this quilt was shown in one of the Oxmoor House books. My cousin in Kansas sent me a picture of it and said, "try this one." There really was no pattern, but some directions that, to me, were pretty vague. Believe me, I stumbled through the whole thing. Once I made all of the diamonds, I laid them out and made my own pattern for the background. It was called simply "Multi Fan Star."
All of the hand quilting was my own. I drew what would fit. After pinning the layers I drug it upstairs to my recliner and stitched for about 2-3 hours each evening from Nov-March. This thing was my life for the last year!!
The scallops...I have to thank Linda Franz. I found her tutorial while searching for "how to's" on my computer...I had never done scallops before. Her instructions were not only complete, but easy to understand. I, also, liked the fact that she said to take plenty of chocolate breaks when frustrated and wanting to give up.
Thanks again...any more questions...I'll be happy to answer.
