Beautfiul and a wonderful quilt to have
|
City of Hinesville had a quilt given to them by a family that had a family member who live in the city in the 1940-1950s. There are ladies names embroderied in to scrappy blocks. Some of those names have streets named after them. some names are from families that still live in the city. It is neat that the City had the quilt frame and sitting in the Mayor's reception room. (It framed out at apro. 80" by 90", to big to hang on the wall. Had a fun time getting into the building throught the double doors.)

I'm so happy for you that you were able to learn it's story before your Aunt passed, as you might have found it without that story being passed on. |
How wonderful that you get to be the current keeper of this treasure!
