Do you have any hints for how to make the heavily quilted areas lie as flat as the more simple areas? I would have thought that the denser areas would have made those squares quite a bit tighter/smaller than the other ones. Did you do dense basting? That is probably a dumb question, because if you used a long arm machine you wouldn’t had to baste?
It may be because the whole quilt is SITD. Around the individual stars as well as the square in the square so each area is secured/basted in that sense. I quilt on my Janome 8900-no long arm :-) |
