Awww Ma I love this idea!!! I saw Hailey's name in the post and knew it had to be yours! Adorable!

Very nice.

I love grandma's little girls dress! So sweet. The idea of a scrap quilt with all the leftovers is good thinking too, strawberry.

Thanks everyone!! I love making clothing, especially for the kids.
Beachlady, nope..I'm gonna make Jasmine and Alicia HELP me make their scrappies muwahahahahahahaha Will start Hailey helping as soon as she's big enough too. I'll have a couple more outfits to show you very soon. As soon as I get time to sew between these doggon storms we're having in the midwest. Can't sew when there's lightning. I won't risk my machine LOL. Tell Roben to quit sharing the doggon bad weather so we can get moving with the new wardrobes LOL. Thanks again everyone for the awesome comments. :) |
Speaking of saving some of the fabric, I am currently in the midst of hand quilting a large queen quilt for my daughter. The squares are Sunbonnet Sue pattern. All the squares were made by my Mom, who is currently 93, over the last 10 years. The dresses are made from scraps of many of the dresses my Mom made for my daughter (39) when she was little. Can't tell you what a treasure this is for my daughter. She has a 4-yr old daughter and when I make a dress for her, I put the scraps in a special tote so that one day I can make her the same quilt with fabrics from her dresses. Great way to preserve wonderful memories of Grandma.
