It is almost one year to the day that my sisters partner of 10 years had a bad accident on a motorbike also when he and my husband were out riding so I can sympathise with you. He has had a long road to recovery last year and is walking again and being productive but still some months to being pain free. Good luck.
Very glad you found quilting again to sooth the soul. Keep up the great work and keep posting. I like how you are interpreting this quilt too.

Thanks. Hubby's accident was in April, and he is back at work now although moving more slowly. We were lucky.

Does that block look wonky to you? It should. I did my own diagram of the block based on the photograph of the original block in Brenda's book. So, if you think my triangles are off, look at Jane's original block. I think she did it on purpose.

So was Jane S the first "liberated" quilter? LOL Am I correct in saying these are 4" blocks? I so admire anyone who sews this quilt. You've got a great start!

I am going to be following your progress, because I am just starting a DJ also, and I did join the group that dakotamaid talked about. But following yours, will also help me to figure out how to do some of them. Good luck on it. I love the blocks that you have done so far. They are really pretty.

Hope your husband is doing well!! I also am working on DJ. I started about a year ago. I am going at my own pace and since I like to be different, I am using my own patterns as I go. I like to make blocks that look like blocks I have put into other quilts, I just change the size. I have about 50 blocks done. Will watch as you progress.
