It would have been worth it if you couldn't spell your own name! How gorgeous!

This machine has had TLC and I hope that you are going to see if it sews as good as it looks.

Looks like the treadle that I have. Love the scroll work on each of the drawers. I think these cabinet were a little higher end than most. I had to take mine apart completly and redo everything. The wood was in perfect shape just needed a good cleaniing and light oil touch-up. I had to repaint the metal treadle part. The head is covered in scroll work. DH bought it for me for my birthday a few years ago. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine.

Thanks everyone!!!!! (brain cells are responding today)

I am still grinning =), it's just by the hallway so I see it every time I walk past and I find myself reaching out and running my hand along it. *sigh*

If you've got one, don't put off trying to restore it any longer....they are sooooo worth it. Just think of the calm rocking action while sewing.....*insert zen moment music*

The machine that was in it is sooooo coated with grime I can't see the decals. It's going to be quite a bit of work.

For those in the Pac NW area, there is a similar one on CL right now, also in excellent condition for $165 (more than I paid)

My brother restored our grandmother's old Singer cabinet which looks like the same model you have. (It's the machine in my avatar.) She had painted it a terrible brown years ago. Aren't they beauties!
