you GO, girl!!!! (as in ... go make one for me.  )

Roben 09-08-2008 12:56 PM

Just beautiful, Judy! I'm in awe, I could never get one done that fast!!!!!

Thank you all for your compliments.

But, you see that there are

all straight lines, piecing and quilting
no triangles....
strip piecing, goes fast..
cross hatching = fewer stops and starts...

I am not usually a machine piecer, but there is a time and place for everything, right...

No more quilting snobs at my house..lol

Wow, what a job! I just love that label, beautiful work and fast too. Let me guess you didn't have much warning?

It's funny in a way I keep telling my sister. "two weeks is plenty of time to do a baby quilt" but over and over she doesn't believe me, so I end up doing it in an evening to have it done (and perhaps to prove a point). :D

As for the camo, perhaps that's a baby blanket in a year or twelve. :D

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Perfect colors and the labels just ROCK!! What a special gift, even if it isn't camo LOL You did an awesome and REALLY FAST job!!!

So I take it that you only slept on Wednesday? Wow! That was some project and it turned out absolutely lovely. They will love it too.

Amazing !!! Did you do the cross-hatch machine quilting on a regular sewing machine? I try, but I really need a lot more practice. How do you get it so well balanced. I'm not really sure how to do the math for spacing, etc.

jstitch 09-10-2008 05:39 PM

Yes, I did the quilting on my regular sewing machine.

I just sewed diagonally across the squares...no need to measure for spacing, you just aim for the corner of each square.
