What scarecrow???? LOL!

That looks so fun, how much quilting did you get done?

MJ

Quilting? Zip! I found a discount fabric store and bought some for memories and later projects. :D We actually took my DD's new sewing machine she got for her birthday, but we didn't have time to use it.

Thanks. I tried to ignore the sun poisoning as much as I could. I did pretty well other than the itching!

No, sun poisoning is more like poison oak or poison ivy...it's a rash. It itches like crazy, and is painful to scratch. It sorta feels hot like a sunburn. Yeah, I'm very fair-skinned.

You and your family are beautiful. Hope you had a wonderful time except for the sun poisoning.

Gosh! Glad you were able to skip the ER! I dehydrated when I was pregnant with my DD. I did have to go to the ER. That was scary. I had "spells" (3-4 of them), where they thought I was having seizures. It was just dehydration. Pretty bad, though. It scared me most bc I was afraid for the baby.

Yes, other than the SP, we had a great time!

I can see you are very fair and have lovely skin. I wouldn't be pushing it out in the sun, especially if you're sensitive. They've got 70 proof sunblock now!

I don't know that the number matters. Just slather it on and protect that fair skin.

Your kids look fair too. How do they hold up in the sun? I had second degree burns all over my face, back, neck, chest, arms swimming at a pool all day when I was in third grade. My legs were the only things that didn't "crisp" up because they were always under water.

My blisters were the size of walnuts.

Very painful, yet vivid memory.

Take care of yourself.

We use SPF 50. It kinda burns in the SP area, though. I used to get it when I was a kid, but not this bad. The doc diagnosed me with poison oak/ivy when I was a kid!
The kids didn't have any problems with the sun bc I make sure to get them covered with sunblock. My DD did get a little bit of a burn on her shoulders one day when we were out without any sunblock longer than we meant to be...we found a bunch of shells and wandered off too far. We go through several cans of sunblock each summer! :D

Whoa! Walnut-blisters! That is horrible!!! I have never been that burned. I have been sunburned more this summer than I have been in my life, I think. I got burned twice...I think the sunblock was old or something. We're not using it again!

The kids had a blast! Thanks.

Funny you would say that about yourself. As I was scrolling through your pics, I paused on that one and thought to myself "wow, she is really pretty" You are so young and your skin is so youthful still. Quite a lovely young lady you are.

Thank you. That's very sweet. We are our own worst critic, I suppose...
Thanks for the compliments!

Aren't our vacations/holidays ALWAYS too short? lol Glad you had a good time, despite the sun poisoning. I get that too, because of some of my meds. I hate that itchiness - ICK! You & your family are all beautiful, no more putting yourself down Ms. Miranda!! :D:D:D:D:D

You are beautiful.....no scarecrows for your picture :--)

I have always had to stay out of the sun. My skin is white white unless the ole gal has forgotten the sunblock. My rash doesn't itch too much, but then again I have been real careful for the last few decades. I was very happy when sunblock became available about 1976 when my oldest child was born.

My pedigree (smile) is English, Scotch, Norweign and Spanish. I have cousins who tan, never burn. But, their skin will look like leather someday.

Have you tried any of the protective clothing? I will invest in light weight slacks and a long-sleeve shirt this calendar year. That is, if I don't spend all my money on quilting...

Piecefully yours,
Kay Susan
