I'm not sure how this quilter did hers but there is a series of books (and kits) using a technique that achieves this 3 dimensional look. It uses a type of stabilizer that bends and allows your shapes to curve. I apologize for my vague description but my old mind can't remember her name at the moment. I think if you search the web for 3 dimensional quilt patterns you'll easily find the author/quilter. She recently moved her business from Cape Cod, mass to Florida.

Thank you for the pictures of the show. I was ready to say that I like the embroidered crazy quilt best, then I saw the geometric chocolate quilt, then the bright sunny pinks and oranges floral, then the wee little log cabin. How do you choose a favorite. I enjoyed them all. Thank you.

I loved these! Amazing. Where in Ireland was this show? Is it an annual event? Are the quilters in teams or individuals. You mentioned team USA. BTW your photos are fabulous too. They allowed us to enjoy a very special exhibit. Thanks again.

WOW! I love the embroidered crazy quilt, but I am really impressed with the mini log cabin. About how big were the squares in the mini? Thankyou so much for the Quilt Show from across the ocean. That's one way I get to travel.
