That quilt is great - love jelly rolls. thannks for the progress photos we should all do that as you can forget from one quilt to another what worked and what didn't. Thanks for sharing I certainly have learnt.
Oops forgot - love Oreo |
I just today bought a digital camera, of course I have to learn how to get the pics on the computer and then on the board but I love the idea of a series of pictures for a project. I really do learn visually.

Love the quilt. Especially appreciative of the pictures....always think a picture is worth a thousand words. Wish I could cuddle Oreo!

You did a show and tell and a tute in one post!!!
Love the way you did this and I am also going to print out the instructions b/c my brain is like a sieve :D I asked you the other day how you quilt the King and Queen size (from a post about it) but you may not have seen my question. Do you hand quilt them, send them out?? Love this quilt and thanks again for the great tute!!! Oreo is adorable with the perfect name too!! |
Well!! How fun your thread is! I love how your top came out. The main unifying tan/beige and blue really was a nice touch. I have never seen such a huge jelly roll! They normally are 2 and a half inches wide. Is that what your came out? Great way to use up all those scraps!
Isn't it funny how much you learn just by reading the board? It is pretty amazing really how much we remember when you go to quilt something. Oh I used to have an indoor rabbit named roger. I know not very imaginative. But, he sure was smart and fun to have around. Seeing you little guy makes me miss him. He was a dutch lop. |

I put my mouth guard in and start grinding my teeth.  Honestly, I just wing it depending on the quilt. If it is decently square I can start at one end and just keep rolling it. When the roll gets to big to go under the throat of the machine I start from the other side or other end. I only know how to do a straight stitch for quilting on the sandwich. I saw a really good video the other day showing how she did hers. Let me see if I can find it and I will put it here. Nope, I couldn't find it but someday I will and I will pm you with it. In it she shows how she uses her left and her right hand as the quilt is going under the walking foot. Having watched her do it that way really helped me on this quilt. Sorry I didn't see your question earlier./Regards,Dorothy |
I love this. I love how you went from the lighter and more "spaced" to darker and tighter.
I also appreciate that you gave us a step by step photo series. I had wondered if anyone did that and am happy to see that someone did. Look forward to seeing more! |
Wow! Oreo needs extra lettuce! He did a great job with quality control...it's beautiful, you did a great job!
Kind Regards, MaryAnna |
