The real pattern is "Planned Patch Hood" from quilterscache. I had one block laid out and like it even better so I went with that. I call it "Four Patch Surrounded".

What a great idea! Your quilt is outstanding! I love that pattern. Really love the one similar to yours that looks like a "plus sign." I just call it the plus sign block.
