Alot of you are saying wait til I get more blocks. I think thats just what I'm gonna do. I don't have as much time to work on it now that I don't have my sewing room and my daughter and a 2 year old grandson staying with us but I sew on it when time allows. I am gonna just take my time and see what happends. Thank you for all your comments and taking the time to advise it is much appreciated.

Beautiful fabrics and the blocks look so crisp and sharp. If you're making a larger quilt, I would suggest you wait until you have more blocks done before you make a final decision. So many possibilities. If it's a table runner, I would vote for the second layout.

Have you tried strip piecing the blocks? Eleanor Burns has a strip-pieced log cabin quilt book, and it is so much easier and faster. You sew all of the 2" dark strips to 2" light strips, then cut them 2" each. Sew all of these to the next dark strip and cut apart, then sew on the light strip. It really goes much faster! And they are accurate, too.
I love your fabric choices! |
Great job, I enjoy the top one the most.

Thank you QuiltE I will check this out.

The versatility of the log cabin can be daunting or exhilarating! The choice is yours. Your blocks look clean and crisp. Please be sure to show us your finished project! Thanks for sharing.

This is definately a learning experience. I'm having trouble, but I'm not sure how to explain it to where some one can help me. I will figure it out I'm sure. Just frustrated.
