Thanks everyone...I think the second border does sound fab....

JANW....this is pretty easy cause the points are floating and there is no cutting them off...

When I looked at your beautiful quilt I thought "not really a border, just another row of scrappy sashing would be great". Then I read through the other posts and see that I am not alone in my thoughts.

Another gorgeous quilt, Cathie! You turn out such beautiful quilts. Your sewing machine must hum 24/7!!

How do you do floating?

gcathie 11-29-2008 09:52 PM

first row is 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 ....center block is the floating block = 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 put this on the cornor of one rectangle sew diagnaly....3 1/2 x 4 1/2 and sew another 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 block to the other cornor....making a flying geese of some sorts...(this is the floating block) add the last 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 ...thats the top row....look at photo's maybe you can see that....I hope so....good luck let me know

Really pretty Cathie. I agree with some of the other ladies, it would look nice with a small border. Whatever you come up with will be great though. You always do beautiful quilts!
