I NEVER leave my Rowenta plugged in when I'm not in the room. But I do like my Rowenta.

I have a Rowenta I have had for about 10 years and it has been a great iron. It has auto shut off, sometimes it shuts off too soon. The only time it sputters is when I add water AFTER it is hot, so try not to do that any more.

My DH worked is a place that sold returns and overstock. Many of the Rowenta's he got in to repair leaked. That seemed to be the main problem. However, if I had been able to find one at that price, I don't think you could go wrong.
Enjoy

Always use bottled water in your iron. If there is any minerals in your tap water, that will corrode the inside of your iron and cause it to leak.

I have had no problems with my Rowenta, only that it too big to set beside my sewing machine..yesterday I found a little Black & Decker for 7.00 new, the size is just right and it is so light...but I won't give up my Rowenta for ironing clothes, yes, regardless what my DH says, I do iron clothes. Everyone have a wonderful day..and remember "broken things can become blessed things if you let God do the mending"

I had a Rowenta, hated it. It was unreliable to say the least. There are other posts on this board regarding the fire issue with these irons. Once I read about the fire hazard, I cut the cord off of it, sent an email to Rowenta and later just pitched it. I didn't want to take a chance on burning the house down.
