I actually got it from the web...will see if I can find the link and post it here :D
http://www.equilters.com/library/jea...gallbaros.html Hope that this helps. I used 6 inch circles and roughly 4 inch squares....no batting or backing. It does take lots of thread tho. You can use a different color of thread in the bobbin if you like as it creates a nice design on the back of the quilt. :D I recently made a couple of grocery totes out of denim and scraps that I used a shade of blue similar to the denim and red and purple on the plain back for the bobbin. Hope that this makes sense? (probably clear as mud :( ) |
My quilt has 400 six inch circles in it and for the totes I used 36 six inch circles. I cut 24 inch strips of denim to make the handles. My DS and his g/f love the heaviness of the denim for the grocery totes. Hold up way better than plastic and easily washable. :D I also made 2 of the totes for a friends cancer benefit auction that each brought $20. :D
You will want to use a heavy duty needle in the machine tho as the denim is hard on them. |
Absolutely stunning...I love it. I thought of doing another denim quilt using this pattern but the only thing that stops me from doing it is just the weight and the massive amount of thread (I'm such a wimp sometimes!).
