Good job.
:!: That's great advice - that's kind of how I went about the binding. I just attacked it. ;) |
Sorry you had so much trouble. Looks great from here!!
Congratulations on finishing your first quilt!!! |
You did a great job! I love your fabrics.
Your quilt is beautiful! Sorry you had so much trouble with it.
Great job!! and Stars for staying with it. You have learned so much with this one, just think how easy the next one will be LOL
Well, it's just gorgeous! All of that extra hard work certainly paid off and I'm sure your daughter is going to be on cloud nine!!!!
Awesome job. I have yet to make my first regular quilt. I have made 6 rag quilts so far. You go girl.
You did a awesome job and I think you did great on your stitching, sorry you had to go through so much, but I'm sure your DD will always adore it.
Congratulations :D:D:D
It's Beautiful!!! You did an awesome job on this!!! I am glad that you hung in there :D:D:D The next one will go much smoother, with each one we learn more, and it is so much easier  |
Gerat quilt. You did a great job.
Not only is it a very pretty quilt (I love the colors), but the quilting looks good too. Sorry you had to stress it so much, but now it's done and I know your DD will love it!!
I think it looks great! It doesn't look like you had a problem with it at all. Good job!
Looks good. Now you are a real quilter.....sew, rip, sew. We all have been there, but look how much you've learned.
Your quilt is beautiful. I had the same problem with my second quilt but I wasn't brave enough to try hand quilting (i have carpal tunnel) so i had to stick it out on the machine. It was a queen size bursting star design and it seemed like every star I had to tear out one point or another. In the end though, it is all so much worth it. Just think of every stitch as a kiss and a hug from momma. :-)
Very nicely done! Congratulations!
Wow! You really got a ton of lessons on one quilt! It looks very nice and love the colors.
Join a quilt club and take some classes to keep up the good work. The first is always the hardest cuz-----it's the first. A for your perseverence. |
nice job.
Your quilt is terrific! Isn't it amazing how we learn from each project -- although it's sometimes pretty painful! After some of my recent frustrations I'm wondering if I should do a mini-quilt version (like pillow size or wall hanging size) before tackling any new project, so I can learn the nuances BEFORE I've sewn in the mistake a thousand times.
Anyway, I love your finished quilt! |
I love your quilt and I am sure that your daughter will also. The colors are great.
And it is sooooooo beautiful.!!!!!!!! your daughter will love it.
Martha,
I love your quilt and your color choices!! Keep on quilting! |
I'm not sure I understood all your problems but I hear you pain. We have all been there. It's unfortunate it was so frustrating your first time out. It's a gorgeous quilt and anyone would love to have it. don't give up!! you have a good eye for color, something I sometimes struggle with and your result has to please you.
Maybe you should take a class and be able to avoid some of the beginner mistakes. I love your quilt and salute you for sticking with it. |
Thanks everyone.
I got to deliver the quilt to my daughter today. She really loves it. She posted a beautiful post on FaceBook about it, and also on her personal blog - she wrote some really beautiful and amazing things about me. It was nice to hear. Things a mother should know but doesn't always get told, ya know? It was worth all the struggles and lessons. :) |
Great job! Your daughter will be thrilled. Now you can put your feet up for a while...until the next project calls!
Kind Regards, MaryAnna |
It's the learning experiences that really focus your style! It is a fabulous quilt and I know you'll be even more proud of it with all that work! Great job!
Extraordinary colors/print choices! I've seen so many other similar quilts that look like blah, just pieces stuck together. Yours is so well designed, and I'm sure your persistence and perfectionism resulted in beautiful stitching, too.
Can't wait to see your next quilt! |
Looks great to me !!!
I'm sorry you had so many problems, but so glad you stuck with it. Your quilt is gorgeous. I had to go back and look again after you said it is a D9P. It doesn't matter if people (me included until you said what the pattern is) can't tell the pattern. I love how it is laid out. Love your backing too. Your quilting looks good now.
