Beautiful, beautiful quilt.

Love your quilt! I too agree about the white Kona. I buy it by the bolt because I'm a lover of white backgrounds. My thoughts on the "threadiness" of Kona is that maybe the all the extras that are added to print fabrics help it to not be "thready". Starching Kona white helps but not all that much.

Yes, I agree your quilt looks beautiful and the white sets it off. I have a hard time using solids for the very reason you expressed. I hope I don't offend anyone, but I think they are blah. I will go for a blender before using a solid. White on white is a good choice. When using white, that's what I pick. With all that said, I admire quilts that have solids in them. Go figure.

Thank you all for the nice comments. That white fabric did and still is driving me crazy. I starched it 2 times (once before cutting and then again as I was doing the final press after the borders) and it still is wrinkled looking. I know after it is quilted and washed that it will blend with the rest but it just doesn't look as crisp as the other fabrics.

Homemother--I think you and have may have similar "eyes". Something about a solid just doesn't look right to me as there is no "texture" or "depth" to it. I have some Moda and Kona solids in a few bright colors and I can see using them in small pieces will look okay to me but for anything more extensive I would use a tone on tone. Unfortunately, I purchased at least 7 to 8 large cuts of Moda and Kona whites or creams in the past year to use so I will be using them up somehow. I think the cream ones will look better but most of my current fabric really calls for a white instead.
