Teresa this is one pretty quilt. I like all of the idea's. So, you'll have to decide for yourself.

I vote with the others who say to save it til next year's celebration. It's adorable and I've never seen a Dr. Seuss quilt before!

I would do a raffle! Make tickets like $1. each or 6/$5. The kids should be able to afford that! Then draw on the last day of school!! Or the last week!

I would have a hard time parting with it. Makes me happy to look at it, and it would be better to wrap it around me!

Thanks everyone, for your compliments and suggestions. I knew you would give me some good ideas! Right now, I am leaning toward enjoying it for a year, and then giving it away.

You could have a fund raiser where people donate to the "Cat in the Hat Book Project" - the quilt stays in the library and the donations go towards books. Or leave it in the library and people donate books to the "Cat in the Hat" on their birthday or Christmas or any special day.

Or you could make a new one each year and raffle it off. The library would definitely benefit from that. I know it can be hard to part with quilts though...
