Wow! I am amazed at the amount of scraps you had - you have been very busy! And then to get it all done in one day, thinking of the animal shelter and also of a way to introduce the girls to quilting. You are a very special lady! Take a bow!

great idea, I am sure the animals will love them

Wow! That is a lot of work for one day! I think I would've gotten bored and it would've taken me a week to do all that. One of my cats will burrow down in a bag of batting scraps or fleece and take a nap. He would've been right at home with your kitties.

What a huge undertaking, but for a very good cause. This is something I might look into as my DD's friend is a veterinarian, maybe she might be able to use them or know a place that would.

I have a mother in law in assisted care home that before she went in, she was making small pillows for people to put between their knees to sleep or under their necks to make their pillow fit better. She now uses one every day, they are about 6" X 12 " and not stuffed too tightly. She made small pillow cases for them as well. Just another idea for your scraps/ Her senior center collected torn knee hi's and panty hose, cut them up for stuffing as well. Launders beautifully!

I have been making crocheted pillows from scraps and small amounts of yarn donated to our charity group. Then, I asked my quilting group for donations of scraps they had, so I could stuff the pillows. I just couldn't throw away the scraps I received or cut them all into small pieces, so I sorted, and sorted, and sorted. Now I have bags of skinny strips, wider strips (2.5" or greater), etc. and lots of batting scraps. Fun way to scraps if fabric and yarn and make useful and colorful items. And quicker than scrap quilts.
