Well you can't see any of your quilt's trials and tribulations now! It looks beautiful! Your mom is terrific too! Bet she loves this!
Don't be so hard on your self. I think it looks great!!!
The beauty of this quit outshines any mistakes (if any) or bleeding. (don't you hate that?) What a wonderful job you did!! Let's focus on the beauty and forget the little booboos that make you sad. You are so lucky to have such a sweet mother, and she is lucky to have you too. God bless both of you.

Beautiful log cabin! I don't see the hole or the bleeding...must have to be close to see it! I know your mom loves it because you made it with love for her!
Pretty quilt. Good job, like the quilting. It all goes together quite well. Flaws in one persons eyes is perfection in someone else.
absolutely beautiful! You did a great job with your new LA!
It is such a gorgeous quilt! I cannot see any unmatched seams or any problems with it. It is beautiful and the quilting is lovely too. Thank you for sharing. :)
No mistakes seen by these eyes. I just love the colors. You did a great job!!
How do you use Bo Nash powder?
Mistakes or not- it's beautiful!
It is beautiful!! Lucky you.......say hello to Prarie Meadows for me.
Christine, Bo Nash Powder is used for mending tears, holes, burn holes in fabrics of most all sorts. Someone on another list mentioned it to me so I went online to check it out. Believe me, once you iron over the powder, its just about impossible to remove the patch. I was going to try to stuff the patch inside the hole as I wasn't happy with the results but I couldn't get it off so I just trimmed around the edges and I'll wait till it wears or frays off to attempt again. The stuff does work though. Another name I found is 007 BoNash Powder. There's a video out there to see some of their examples how they do certain types of fabrics.
Thanks for looking at my quilt. Suz in Iowa |
Its good to know that the bleeding might come out with additional washings with the color catchers. I'm sure if I had used more than one the 1st time I might not have had this problem. This is my 1st bleeding episode with my quilts and I use a lot of bright colors.
This quilt is 96 x 96, largest I've ever attempted. I was making a different quilt for my mother when she was living in her own home but since moving in with me, her bedroom colors changed and she noticed this one and claimed it. So I still have the one I originally made for her to give to some one when I actually finish it. Thanks to all for the nice comments on my quilt. It really helps me to strive forward. Suz in Iowa |

WOW! Very beautiful. I've wanted to do a log cabin quilt, but couldn't decide on a color combination. Love your color choices...you've inspired me.
This is so stunning, love the colors, the quilting set it off beautifully , thanks for sharing.
it looks beautiful from here! and what a wonderful mother you have!
I really love the way you used the reds in this and the quilting pattern you used on the white areas. I find it much more interesting than the feather pattern that is so popular!
Well, it's beautiful, even if you know about a few flaws (no one else will ever notice). I'm glad you posted about the problems, though--it encouraging to see other make a couple mistakes and keep going with something instead of just putting it on the back burner (something I'm a little guilty of).
What is the powder you mentioned? Donna |
ooooohhhh love it
Very pretty and welcome to the Midwest. I love in Mass. now but grew up in SD, before moving to NE, then NH and now MA. I still miss the midwest - the people there are always friendly.
