Hope your knee is o.k. after six weeks, im up and back to normal.
those darn hexies are addicting. Used 3/4" ones and made a pretty one 54" x 45" approx. It matches nothing in the house. My cat zoey looks great on it, so she gets it for christmas. Luxky her. It goes on her royal highnesses throne. |
Hope that surgery is healing nicely and you'll be back on your feet in no time. The hexagons are working up to be a beautiful quilt.

Beautiful work! LOVE your hexes! Does anyone else have problems with blurry vision after doing several of the hexes or, for that matter, any handwork? Been to the Opthamologist many times, had cataract surgery both eyes with inplants, have new glasses for close work, use Restasis and have an Ott light. Any other suggestions?

Just lovely, terrific job and thank you for sharing. Keep on going
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
Hope the knee works well.
Very pretty start to the quilt. |
I love your hexis! Can't wait to see your finished project. I had both knees done last summer (6 wks. apart) and that's the greatest thing since sliced bread! Hope you have a speedy recovery and are happy with your new parts. LOL!
|
nice work, very colorful, a great project to pass the time! How's the new knee?
|
I also had double knee replacement done. Believe me it's the only way to go. Breezed through with no problems. Glad to hear things are going good again for you. Great hexagons.
|
I too, am a hexagon addict. Now I am into pieced hexagons. So fun.
|
that is going to be a msterpiece when finished. BEAUTIFUL!!!

Well done Hilary, hope the new knee is coming on well. After the silly season of Christmas I hope to hand quilt a Michael Miller Fairy panel while I watch the Australian Open Tennis so that I don't feel guilty.
Hear from my friend in Hinckley that you have had a lot of rain, have a lovely Christmas and may 2013 bring you and your family everything you wish for. |

What a neat idea. Your work is beautiful. I had a total knee replacement the last day of Feb. Two weeks later it was infected, and I had to go to emergency and have the parts taken out and new ones put in, because the plastic stuff absorbs the infection. I spent 6 weeks after that in a nursing center and had to have an iv of antibiotics every day for 6 weeks. I told my doctor that if I ever had anything bad happen to the other knee, I would not have another operation, I would be like a bear in a trap and chew it off first. Needless to say, he did LOL. Now, that I have gone through so much and have healed, I am glad it is done, and I can play again.

Thanks for sharing the hexagon template link. I have downloaded the 1.5 size. Your hexagons are an inspiration to get started after broken fingers.
|
These are beautiful! Can someone guide me to where I can get a pattern for making hexagons? This is new to me and I would really like to try. Looks like a great way to fill up extra minutes here and there. Thanks everyone!

Love this! I haven't tried them because I've heard they are so addictive... Hate to add another "project", but after seeing yours, I may have to try them out. I'll just blame you for getting me to start them!
|
Ooooh, that is sooo pretty. Please send a pic when finished, OK. Good luck with the knee.
|
Wow that is beautiful. The white really makes it pop! Hope your knee is doing well....Judi

i have had both knees replaced. I had some problems. But I would do again in a heart beat. I went home first time and to therapy once a day. At home I pushed myself with rocking in a rocker. Working the replaced knee just enough to bend the knee a little bit more than the last time. The last knee was done 2 years ago, I went to a rehab centre for therapy 3 times a day and stayed 2 weeks. My recovery was faster and I have more mobility with that knee. I would recommend a rehab as my results where greater. You have to move the knee and it is painful. You only get as much as you push.
|
I hope you are doing well. What a great idea. And it is gorgeous so far.
