Great looking quilt! Congrats on a son in the Navy; I too made a quilt for my stepson when he came home the first time after being away. I did an Around the World in nautical fabrics. Enjoy your time with him home.

My son joined the Navy last November and came home on the 18th for the first time in over a year. DH and I went to his boot camp graduation last Jan/Feb and had not seen him since. He's here only until Saturday night but I have enjoyed having him home for 2 weeks.
I took these pictures about 20 min before posting them. It was a gorgeous day out today. Wil wrapped in the quilt. He decided that he did not want to shave while home cause he is tired of shaving every day. He shaved his head the day before coming home as well. Just lovely, thank you son for his service, from hubby an old Navy guy of 22 years and from me an old Navy gal with 12 years, retired in 1985 and I got out then. GOD Bless him and your family.

That is a beautiful quilt. He looks very glad to have a wonderful treasure from his mom. Tell him to hang in there when the seas in life in the Navy seem to get overwhelming. He will look back on it someday and be thankful for things it teaches him. My son served for 6 years, 4 aboard a nuclear submarine as a nuclear engineer. God bless him, tell him to keep the faith.

My son is currently Deployed and unfortunately they lost one of their helicopters about 2 weeks ago. 2 men were killed. This really affected Wil a lot. |

The quilt is beautiful-I know your son LOVES it! I made my first quilt for my son-he really appreciated it although he doesn't always show his feelings. It is something they will always have and can pass down to their children (if they have any). I feel proud of your son being in the service & hope he'll stay in the USA where he'll be safe.
