My teal and black insanity quilt top.

Here it the quilt I talked about and had asked for pattern advice. I finally decided to use one called East Texas Beauty from an old Quilter's World Magazine. I wanted to do one quilt, pieced the old way, one square at a time, didn't use any strip piecing or short cuts. Thought I might lose my mind. This took me several months, and please, please don't look too close. Surely isn't perfect, and I love things to be more perfect than this one. It has 3013 pieces, and I still have to quilt it. Thought I'd share now in case I throw it out! Lesson learned, and bring on all the shortcuts:)

Wow. It looks good to me. Though I can't imagine why you set yourself a challenge like that in the first place. Isn't life difficult enough? The colors really work together, so just quilt it, bind it, and move on to something easy!

Never looking close, just galloping by on my horse and thinking 'such a lovely quilt' that would drive me nuts too, LOL

Your quilt looks great from here! Sometimes it's fun to challenge ourselves to do something the hard way...so glad you stuck with it and finished it. I know I would have given up before I got very far. Thanks for sharing!

Isn't it funny how we decide to challenge ourselves. This is one venue I don't ever plan on taking. I applaud you for your attemp and it is beautiful. Once you finish this quilt and don't see it for awhile, I think you will really appreciate it's beauty and remember the challenge to yourself and how you stuck with it!
