It will be beautiful either way. And, your GGS is such a handsome little guy.

Ah, yes! I thought "Christmas Around the World" as soon as I saw it. I'd like to see the feathers contined around. Some of them resemble candy canes! Cute quilt inspector you've got there!

I think The fabric feathers add so much to the quilt. Great idea to do FMG in the others

lovely Christmas quilt !

Polly- Have you decided? I bet it's going to be great!!!!!!

It is a beautiful quilt and obviously the feathers are a lot of work! It is especially difficult when you don't really like the colours, pattern etc, I find that I am that way too! Personally it would look lovely to have the feathers on the other 2 sides but if you don't want to do anymore with it, it looks great the way it is now and I agree with LucyInTheSky about FMQ-ing feathers in the borders instead. Ultimately you need to choose what you like and take it from there! Please post once it's done. Best wishes. :)

I have decided...I have continued the feathers down the sides (I had t turn the quilt sideways on the board to get it all in) and am just outline stitching with varigated thread. My feathers still don't look that good, but this is turning out to be a good practice quilt. I think it will look OK without the applique feathers. I think I will have it finished by this afternoon and will post a picture later today. Thanks everyone for the reinforcement and encouragement.

Here are a couple of photos of finished quilt. Really like the name "Santa's Trip Around the World" that someone suggested. Absolutely not the best FMQing I've ever done, and certainly not the best feathers, but it is finished and I can use if this Christmas and I have one less UFO in the closet.

Lovely!!!!! You did great with this UFO!! I like the feathers FMQ'd.They finished it off great!

The quilted feathers on the opposite ends will finish it off beautifully. Nice job. Can't believe you put it in the closet...lol.
