Clip, I'm still looking for an actual pattern but here's a tutorial for a "shadow" quilt, basically the quilt you like is just one more row on the block and sashing I think between the rows. All the blocks are made the same but positioned differently.

These are so beautiful. The colors, prints and patterns are all stunning. And the quilting is perfect for these quilts! I am sure his son will be beyond happy with his quilt.

a few months ago in exchange for a lounge suite for my son I made a lap quilt for the person who so kindly donated it to him. (first picture) His son, who happens to live in Japan saw this and asked if I would make him a quilt. (second and third picture) I love oriental fabric and so was very glad to donate the fabric and my time. He paid for the long arm quilting and batting.
