Bev, no way could I sell the directions - after all the help I've received from you all!!

He bought a 10' section of 1" pvc pipe and cut it in two = (2) 5' sections.
Get (4) 1" pvc male adaptors, and (4) 1" pvc threaded caps.
(2) 1x4x2' boards for the ends, and then just cut the two holes in each of them.
I then used muslin for the 'leader cloths', which I taped on with packing tape! Ribbon and push pins make the side tension thingys.
And get maybe 3" or 4" pvc pipe (about 2' each?) to use as the supports, for it to slide on back & forth on, or how ever high you need.

He also later drilled holes in the pvc caps, and put dowels through them, to make it easier for me to tighten them. More like a faucet handle?

And yeap, Linda, it would slide much better I'm sure on pvc pipes, instead of the blocks of wood! lol!!! We were just pretty much using what we had on hand at the time.

Bev, I'm sending you an email too.
:D

Thanx You Diana and Hubby.
You are so very sweet to give me all the info on your frame. Hubby thinking about "marketing" them??? Might not be a bad idea. haha
Thanxs ever so much.
You are up in the UP right?
Bev

Diana, you and hubby are very talented and generous! I'm going to print your directions and get going on my own frame. That is wonderful and ingenous! The good things quilters and spouses come up with to save hours of pickin' and worry. You're the best!!

Hugs,
Sharon

Aren't creative people nice to have around. I have a few in my household also but they are to busy working at this time to be able to get the ideas made.

I'm so limited that I don't know what you mean by a "4-in. quilting area." This invention of your DH looks very nice. Congratulations.

Thanks DH Mayer & Sandpat!! :D
Sandpat, I'm not telling him about the cute part! A friend from church said he looks like Carlos to her, from Desparet Housewives, and he strutted for a week! lol!!!!

Gail, the 4 inches I was talking about is the sewing area (height?) you have available at one time. Then you unroll a bit more quilt, to get more. - because it hits up against the throat/body (?) of my machine. You can travel as far as you want, width wise, but only about 4 inches or so height wise, until you unroll some more quilt. If you have a bigger throat/body? space to your machine, you could probably do a bigger area.
If you look at the pictures, you can see it gets right up against my machine (whatever that part is called! lol!!)
I'm going to have to learn correct terminology! lol!!!!!
