gaigai 05-24-2009 11:59 PM

What an absolutely gorgeous quilt! I'm in awe of people like you who can come up with these kind of unique designs. And the colors are perfect for a kiddo.

Izy 05-25-2009 12:01 AM

Gaigai, it's a case of having to!!, we have such limited resources we have to be resourceful, and that actually makes it more fun :D

Glad you like it, thanks for your compliments :D

tlrnhi 05-25-2009 01:37 AM

I have to agree with you Terri!! ALL thanks to YOU and my friends here on the board, who have so generously sent over lots of lovely fabs for me and my quilting buddies!!

Oh...btw, I just realised by looking back through all the pictures...Terri you sent me over the little ark fat quarter   SO I have YOU my friend to thank for the inspiration for this quilt as that was what started the whole idea in the first place!! :D :D :D

Terri, is that brits or brats???????  :D

BE, K can make you those quilts and I, as a caring health care professional, will accompany you to the hospital for your brain scan! Because obviously you will need to have your head examined! Rotfl

Well, I don't want to scare you, but long ago, when I was just out of nursing school we actually had a patient who had had a hysterectomy who was pregnant. They took her uterus but left her ovaries. The embryo attached to the lining of her intestines. She had a 5 month fetus when they figured out what was causing her abdominal distention. True story.

sapdoggie 05-27-2009 06:53 AM

Love the quilt. It will give the little one and his family many hours to share talking about the pictures and learning about the first Noah's ark.
Have a safe trip and go with the flow of changes- like Noah did on the ark. Remember there is a rainbow at the end.

GramMER 05-27-2009 08:12 AM

Your Noah quilt is so much nicer than mine. I got all inspired and tried to incorporate too much. I suppose I should have remembered: what says too much says nothing.

How can I post a photo here? Maybe I can show you what I mean by "too much says nothing."

See what I mean by "too much?"

Tried to build around a purchased panel and may have gone too far with the "theme." The mountain range should have Ararat as the tallest on in the center.

I have plenty of "water" to finish a border. Most of the water I have now would be in batiks. Someone telll me if I should do brick type strips around the whole thing or if "piano key" arrangement would be better.

Need help and inspiration... You can tell I am less than pleased with my product so far.
