Just lovely, great job and thank you for sharing, I would put a different back and make 2 quilts
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
oh yes, do 2 different tops, love them both, especially your "trip around town" LOL.
Lovely quilt but I would not use the other quilt for backing. The quilt is to beautiful to use your other quilt.
Ditto, make them into two seperate quilts.
With modern transportation, the world is getting smaller. LOL Very nice quilt.
You have two beautiful quilt "tops" . Just my opinion each should have a backing that is more reflective of the style/colors used. It is your quilt so if you like it thats all that matters.
I generally find trip around the world kind of boring, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE yours. Maybe I need to rethink my need to do one. Yours is so "out of the box" with all the different colors you used. The way you oulined it is very striking. I like the back too, but like most on this post would not use it for the back on this quilt. Maybe just a solid fabric for the back in a complementary green.
We should all think out of the box sometimes. Great job.
Your Trip Around the World quilt is gorgeous! You would never know it was all from scraps. Nice colors together. I would use the "back" as another top or the back for a different quilt. It is very pretty, but I don't think it goes with your Trip Around the World top.
Love your quilt! Are those prairie points on the border? I agree with some others that the backing you're putting together is pretty on it's own as a quilt top, but not for backing this quilt.
Great 'trip around your sewing room'!!!! I love it!!! You're right.....maybe a different back. What you have already made makes a perfect front. Now you have 2 :)
the trip is great. use the back for another project
Ditto to the above.
Love your TOW!!
Me, too. Love your Trip Around the World but I don't think the back goes with it.
what a beauty, really like your color selection, one of the nicest Roung the World's I have seen.
great quilt |
Beautiful quilts, thanks for sharing!
Both are beautiful, would make two quilts!
wow you did a splended job on both quilt
Love the top and the name, but really don't care for the backing. Use it for a charity quilt. I think a moda or a Batik might look really nice for the back.
I really like your trip around the .......... And the border makes it pop.

I've been using material from my stash and made this "Trip Around the World", but as you can see, I ran out of some fabrics and so I'm guessing I should really call it "Trip Around the Town". LOL Anyway, I like how it turned out. In an effort to use more fabric from my stash, I've started to make the backing for the quilt. (See second picture.) It is really so different from the front, I'm not sure I should use it for the backing (or at all). I don't know how I would quilt this if I used this different backing. Any opinions?
If you put it together as is it would be a reversable quilt. I would like that. If I wanted a change there you go two for the price of one they say lol beautiful.
The potential back is well laid out and great colors, pretty enough to be a front, so I have to say only use it as the back for Trip if you'll reverse it often! I plan to make a reversible quilt for myself as it would take up less space when stored, be easy to change looks, and would give me double value on the pricy wool batting I will use.

Yes, the trip is wonderful! I think the backing is too different from the front though...

I agree with the others. But you now have two quilt tops here. They are both very nice, but.......in IMHO they don't really go together. BrendaK

Looks like it was a fun trip! Love the quilt.
They both looks wonderful...but I would make 2 quilts! :)
