Gorgeous quilt! The close up reminds me of Port Merion in Wales I visited in 2005. It is a village in itself, open to visitors for a fee due to its unusual architecture and colourful buildings. Lovely though I would not wish to live there as there is a constant flow of visitors who can be quite insistent on peeking in at your windows etc, not that we did that but we saw other people doing that!
Love your quilt! I would think that any MIL will love the effort in making them a lovely present like this.

That sounds like an amazing place! I'll have to look up Port Merion.

I was fortunate enough to take a side-trip to Cinque Terre, Italy with my DH during a visit to Switzerland to see his mom at the end of '09 and the colorful buildings in this quilt remind me of that place as well. Europe is truly picturesque and inspiring!
