These look like the start of kaleidoscope blocks to me. You can make them square by adding a triangle onto every other wedge.

Congratulations! You have a great friend.

For these 62 blocks that match: use your stitches on the sewing machine to applique these onto a solid piece of fabric, like a dresden plate. You should be able to make several charity quilts out of the fabric and blocks she has given you.

Gorgeous scraps! Lucky-lucky! Don't panic--just enjoy!

Thanks! There are 8 of them so I'll be checking that out later, too. :)

What a bonanza! You're going to have so much fun playing with all these.

I would put like blocks together or even like colors together. Just lay them out until as large as you want and add borders to blocks so they fit together. I taught classes for years and later divided my left over blocks in light and dark pile and put them all together. My dark quilt I made the lining out of scraps that were 45" wide but from 8 to 16" long. The quilt finished 45" by 60" and it was the first one I sold when I decided to sell some. I thought it was the uglist one I had ever made.

If I had those "scraps", I would be in scrap heaven!!!

I just went through all the scrap suggestions made on Bonnie Hunter's website http://quiltville.com/scrapusersystem.shtml I'm using her guidelines. I had already started sorting by color family and by shapes. Her information is really helpful. Then I went and looked at a lot of the free quilt patterns she has - lots of good ideas there, too.
