Those are the same Shiva Paintstiks and rubbing plates I used for this. I'm going to do some of my own "durability testing" to see how well the designs hold up through multiple launderings as well. These paints do have a slight but distinct odor; they are oil paints and do smell like it. The odor isn't strong enough to be noticeable in a wall hanging or art quilt, but I'm not sure I'd want to have it next to my nose when I'm cuddled up under a quilt. :rolleyes:

Cool! Last December I bought some of those black plastic templates for design but I bought a fabric paint. I might also try using the Derwent Inktense pencils on the templates. Your project reminds me I need to dig those out and give it a try. :thumbup:

I'd love to hear how the Inktense pencils work out... I tried some awhile back but didn't realize that I needed to heat-set them and the color washed out... More stuff to try!
