That is such a sweet quilt! And made by your Mom makes it that much sweeter :)

Wow! At my first glance, I thought I was looking at one I made. Didn't know which one. I made 2. Backed one with a sheet and the other with a sheet blanket. My daughter who is going on 39 sleeps has slept with it every night since she was about 5. I has been backed twice and she says it needs to be done again. The other one is being repaired now. They ARE indistructable. -- I have one more ready to sew together. One of my ufo's.

What a beauty!! I have a couple similar that my grandmother made. They were so heavy, you couldn't turn over at night.

Your mother and mine must have been using out of the same scrap bag! My mother made several that could be identical to yours except she tied them. She passed away 15 years ago but my sons are still using them and them have no wear on them whatsoever. Love them (mom, my boys and the quilts)

My mom made one just like that as well, but she did add batting and she backed it in flannel and gave it to my son for Christmas. He used it until it was literally in shreds and even then, I had a tough time talking him into letting it go. We ended up having a ceremony for it when he agreed it's time had come.

Thank you for posting it, it brought back wonderful memories.

I have one my Grannie made out of polyester. It is backed with an old blanket and I have to re-sew seams every year but I love it! It is heavy and warm and just makes me feel closer to her.
