Our very messy sewing room. We do all our cutting, and most of our fabric is stored in, an adjacent, much larger room which is also our online store, but I can't show pictures of that or I'll get spanked by the mods. :)

My sewing room doubles as a guest room. I was most proud when we came up with the "Redneck Wall Bed" because to purchase a REAL wall bed was WAY out of our price range. .

#1. - We c-clamped the the iron header to the wall and removed the bed frame.

#2. I secure the mattress/box spring to the wall with a wide sash...and put 2 flannel backed table cloths over them (secured on with safety pins).

#3. That makes a nice design wall. When company shows up... I remove the flannel covering... roll up the projects on it, drop the bed back down onto cinder blocks. My table is collapsible.. and it works out just fine. I have had more then one over night guest admit to reading my quilting books half the night...

Various photos of the room... and last but not least... the room can be transformed back into a small but cozy guest room in under an hour. It's been perfect for our limited space.

Mattress/boxsprings tied on easily

Flannel Wall bed...(Mattress and boxspring are now my design wall.

There are tubs in the upper compartments now

VOILLA! When company shows up the bed is lowered from the wall, and made up. Cutting table is folded down.. and all is well.

That's a pretty amazing transformation! A very cozy guest room and a very efficient sewing room. Good for you!!
