OK guy's, I got my big helmet cut and pinned for the center of the quilt. The helmet is 29 by 29 and is on a white square 32 by 32. I didn't think I could do it without a pattern but I did it YEAH. The rest should be a piece of cake, I HOPE :(
So how you like????????? |

Great helmet !! You are soooooooo clever. I would have just done the squares, etc. I like your idea a lot. And I bet he will too. Give him a pat on the back from me for all those good grades.

I got the fabric and the backing only problem is I could not get enough of the fabric with the NY Giants logo. So my idea is to make: -a big helmet with some of the royal blue as the center of the quilt -cut out the helmets and the name out of the logo fabric and applique to white squares -cut the foot ball and the numbers out of the other fabric and applique to white, red and blue squares. -the last fabric will be my backing. OK, the helmet parts and grill are all applique on. Now comes the tricky part, designing the surrounding blocks. I'm waiting for my muse to wake up. I should have an idea by the end of the day.
