I quilted the eagle with shield, statue of liberty, the liberty bell on the bottom and appliqued a copy of the star spangled banner and the preamble to the constitution on it. I can't really take a good photo of it but would appreciate any comments on how I can improve on the next one.

Congratulations! It's so exciting to win a ribbon at a fair and all your work was definitely ribbon worthy. I would have been down right shocked if you didn't win for that quilt.
A few years back I entered a box I had painted a picture of a Bengal cat on (cat NOT tiger). I then lined the box with leopard print faux fur. I was so proud of that painted box but what really got the judges was the lining with the faux fur! :lol: It won a blue for me. I know with our fair there are also cash prizes for ribbon winners. Not much but it more than covers the entry fees and even had enough left over for some fair food. Did you win a cash prize for all your blues too? |
