Oh you guys! Wish we all could join the fun! We do yearly round robins in my local quilt quild...they are SUCH fun!

Sandy it needs to be 4 1/2" unfinished or 6 1/2" whatever your round is. When it's an odd number...makes it very hard on the next person for their round. Sewn on, yours needs to measure 4 1/4" all the way around.

Sandy- instead of fudging to make it fit, make some fudge and fit it in when you mail it, ok? Darn, now I must go see if I have the makings for fudge because it is in my brain.

Thanks Jaba...I can make the proper dimensions when I add on the blue border...I think :-) Thanks for letting me know. TRF, I usually don't make fudge until December but you might get a little package then. :-)

Hey Ladies happy days to you :) Sandy it makes it super hard on the next guy if your round is not exact. If we all use blocks we know they come in standard sizes and it reduces what can be done if its not right. Your round should measure 4.5 or 6.5 depending on where you are on the round (first round 4.5, second 6.5, thired 4.5 and so on) before you sew it on. Once you sew it on it will show 4.25 til the next person adds their round and it is a 4" finished quilted round :) confusing but trust me if everyone was off a bit it would some pretty creative or very very simple rounds (strip, then strip, oh maybe two strips) because no one could come up with an even pattern. Hope that helps. Glad you are figuring it out. My first one the center was off .25 and I know Jaba has had to cover for someones half inch before making her round .. hard to do. so its just a courtesy for the group to follow the set sizes. We all want this to be FUN in the quilting room!

Oh Sandy, you might need some practice before Christmas, just to make sure it's perfect you know. Just make a batch now and send it out to all of us and we'll let you know. We'll taste test and your family will so appreciate it

Jaba...we have a saying in our family..."Be careful what you wish for!" LOL

p.s. Thanks for all the helpful tips about the measurements. I will be sure and have a finished block to send off that will be 4.25...at least the part I add on. :-)

HeeHee....I have that saying myself, but anything chocolate or peanut butter is a win win for me....
TWF's aren't you done cleaning yet......pic please, I'm on my knees here darlin', just a beggin' away for you to show me and they are really starting to hurt.:)

Oh Jaba! You had to go and say chocolate and peanut butter didn't you! Now I'm not gonna get to sleep. I'm trying oh so desperately to lose weight, not much success, those 2 great tastes that taste great together are my favs. As a girl when mom would make fudge, I'd spread peanut butter on my pieces :) yum! So, Sandy if you need a place to send that fudge, you can toss a little my way. I have my PB all ready. No calories in it when it's made with love by a friend right?

In a former life we had to be in the same household, I did the same thing. A peanut butter BLT is really good if you haven't tried it. Really brings out the taste of the bacon.
