I finally got brave enough to show one of my quilts. It is a baby quilt I did last year for my great nephew. They didn't want to know what the baby would be until it arrived. The figures in the two larger prints are angels and turns out Sam is a little pistol!!

The quilt is gorgeous. I love the colors and the horizontal design.
What a beautiful quilt. I want to see more now. You just wet our appetite for more. What a nice job you did.
It is beautifull!!! Is Sam a boy or a girl?
Very nice quilt! Love the fabrics.
Cute! I love the colors.
Nice
 Your message made me laugh--thanks. It's a beautiful piece!! I love the row look.
KD, that is beautiful, show us more :D
I love it! very cute!!
Great quilt! This one should last from babyhood and beyond!
That is so pretty, I love the size. Sometimes people forget that babies grow and a much loved child's blanket might be loved and used for years. Nice job, even then quilting compliments your work! :D
KD-what a great quilt!!! Now that you have broken the ice and shown us one, will you be showing us more???
really cute!
Thank you so much everyone. You are all so nice and supportive on this board.
Craftybug--Sam is all boy!! As to the size-- I learned to make larger afghans/quilts for babies from my mom. I don't have pictures of most of my quilts because I didn't take pictures of charity quilts which is mostly what I make. I will probably post in the future though. |
lol but at least the quilt is super duper nice.
That's gorgeous! I'm sure Sam loves it! Please show us more of your pretty quilts.
so cute..
Great quilt and I am sure Sam loves it.
Thank you. I appreciate all of your kindness.

From Don--isewman1.-- I would be very happy with that quilt. Don't be afraid.. Show your quilts.. It looked very nice to me.. Just real quick, I started out crocheting afghans, before I got into quilting.. In fact it took me 7 year's to finish my wifes afghan.. I got into quilting, so much, that I put the afghan on a shelf, until, I got it down. And then decided I'd better get it done. Don

Great job on it!
Such a cute quilt!!
Thank you.
Don--isewman--I can understand taking a while to finish your wife's. I have two of my mom's to finish. One is for my daughter (when/if she gets married) and a baby one I will finish for my youngest granddaughter. |
Gorgeous baby quilt, kd124. Just noticed, we are almost neighbors. I'm a bit East of you across the river!
Gorgeous Quilt. Love the colors and blocks used. Great job.
Love it -- the colors and quilting are great!!
Oh this is a really nice child's quilt. I had to laugh when I read about him being a little unruley. Boys are fun to try and keep up with aren't they?
Did you enjoy doing the row quilt? I have thought about one and even bought a book. Would you make another one? You did a great job on it. Please show more! |
It's gorgeous!
And well done on plucking up the courage to show everyone. It doesn't matter how good it is, it is still VERY nerve wracking showing a quilt on here. It's like showing a piece of your soul, and that's always a risky thing in any company. You had nothing to fear though, it looks great, well done. :-) |

I LOVE it - the row layout is fabulous. It also appears to be quite heavily quilted (?) and this is a look I really like!

That's a great quilt. Love it! Love the design!
Love your quilt. And even little pistols can be angels sometimes.
Thank you everyone for your nice comments. I really appreciate them.
Feathers--it's always nice to see a near neighbor on the board. Shaverg and Sewjoyce--the blocks with the gold all around them is an angel fabric. I drew all the colors from that. RedGarnet222--Yes, Sam keeps us hopping. He is now 2 1/2 and on the go all the time. I swear I can see the gears working in that little head of his. He is very angelic most of time though-very loving. Yesterday I was wearing a t-shirt with the Grinch on it; Sam looked at it, pointed and said Dada! His dad loved that when I told him! LOL As for the quilt, yes, I love making row quilts. I create my own and rather than do precise math, I just add a bit to a row that doesn't quite have the same length (see the 1st row--right off the bat their is a bit of a block, then the whole blocks, then I ended the row with a bit as well) I will definitly make more in the future. BlueChicken--Yes, it is like showing a bit of myself each time I show a quilt to others. MadQuilter--Yes, I think sometimes they do. Not that he is not a good boy, he is---he is just very active and loves to tease--it runs in the family. K3N--It is quilted in a small meander so it is kind of tight. Debbie1--thanks littlehud--yes and he can be so loving. |
