I know I am echoing your accolades from others. This is great and I love how you begin with the black strip in the center. I love it. It inspires me to do some of my own! Thanks!
This is my philosophy as to why this is visually very appealing. The scraps create an utter chaos of the senses. Random colors, patterns, and values. There has to be some sort of reason in the chaos and something that anchors all of it together in the black surround. Otherwise it would be too visually overwhelming. Of course, you can use any color. Red, blue etc. it doesn't have to be black. but a constant throughout the quilt is necessary to hold it all together IMO. I hope this stimulates and makes others bring out their SCRAPS!

I pieced it all on my vintage Singer 319W and FMQ it on my Janome 9000.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! Question......what size are your blocks and is that the size you cut your paper? Do you sew the black strip on diagonally first from corner to corner in order to have them joined together so perfectly....then start attaching the rest of the strips? Are the black strips all the same width? Thanks, Pat
