I absolutely love making scrap quilts. There is nothing more satisfying that using a quilt that you didn't have to spend a lot of money to make. I usually have enough for a top and only have to purchase material for a back. I now have a longarm of my own so I can quilt them which makes them even more economical.

I am not sure how many scrap quilts I have made but I know there have been quite a few!

I am working on one that uses 2" squares made into nine patches (290 of them). The first of two borders has been put on and am still looking for the perfect material for the outer border, back and binding. I have enough leftover bindings in the box to probably use for a scrappy binding.

The lady who used to do my longarm quilting said she always loved getting the scrappy ones because it was like a walk down memory lane ... I have to agree.

A couple more scrappys. Both are from Bonnie Hunters quiltville web sight. I love her free patterns.

Bonnie has THE best patterns! I'm determined to make a "Chunky Churndash" this year if it's the last thing I do!

This is called Framed Log Cabin and I love matting the blocks with a white frame and then framing it all together for a great scrap quilt that is fun to do. It's just done in the log cabin style going around the center square.

Wonky Stars is my all-time favorite so far! It was just great doing liberated piecing!

I've never tried this pattern before. I've thought about it, but just haven't. But seeing this FABULOUS one of yours, I just may have to get the show on the road!
