I am just using an Xacto craft knife and cutting the 11.75" lengths (most of these are approx. 7.5 inches wide, so its saving me from having to cut width too) ... a couple are cut at 11.5 or 11.25, but for the skinnier WOF (like a few quilters flannels I have) I use those. then when I run short, I cut 4.5 lengths and then shorten that to 6.5 heights when I have a good stack of them. I have actually found that since I had them folded 2-stacks side-by-side before, and now I'm adding the cardboard, it is actually taking up a little more space... BUT I can see all the fabrics. AND I can access all the fabrics easily without getting a hernia by lifting a big stack... best of all? It just feels great to be organized!!! I will KNOW if I have any yardage left of this/that |
Love your dragon! I have a yellow one too!

Cool, thanks, I tried splitting the waffle ones since that's all I had and I did use up the 3 that I had so 2 tall ones and 8 small ones are wound. Even that is great. I will look for the others next time I'm at the store.

May you live long enough to use every last yard!!!!

Wow, it's looking good. I can't wait till I can get in my sewing room and get some shelves up so I can get organized. I don't have nearly the stash you do but maybe one day I will. LOL

Its now really starting to fall into line... it feels great! Of course I got a call today and was reminded a friend of my hubby's ~ well, his mom's retirement party is Sunday. Yikes, I forgot! But the good news is, I can now FIND the fabrics I wanna use to make her something quickly... retirement after 25 years... gotta think fast. She does crochet, so I was thinking a couple matching fabric baskets to hold her yarn/WIP... or a totebag to take it on the road...
Here's the progress as of this afternoon, my back aches horribly, so I gotta stop for today. Ugh, where's my Excedrin!? overview of how its starting to look (I used my phone to take the pics, sorry for the cruddy pic quality) Licensed / Holidays / Snowmen now happily together :) Using the larger bolt boards for anything over 1.5 yards... if its less, I use a small mini wrap (removed the minis for now, so I can color-sort them all) WIP stack ~ yeah, I'm finding all my UFO's and WIP's! mass yardage ~ got them all together for quick choices on quilt backs :) and looky here, I found a UFO I must have started 7 years ago... gonna have to finish it, it was my first attemp at raw-edge applique, and I used the heavy duty Wonder Under, so cannot stitch edges of flowers... oh well, time to play with the paints then :) made skinny mini bolts to wrap my different interfacings on, major consolidation! (I do machine embroidery, so I have many different interfacings that I need) |
