It's a spectacular quilt. I understand your desire to quilt it, however, you will have to do as your customer wishes. :wink: That is, unless you can talk her out of it!! :lol:

No, don't do it without customer approval. It will make a significant difference in the weight of the cover, and that may be a factor for the customer. My sister refuses to use duvet covers on her down comforters, because they add so much weight.

quilt the top with a thin-thin batt and plain muslin back then after it's quilted turn it into the duvet. so it has a quilted top. the customer wants a duvet...she wont want a quilt she can not put her comforter into.

No worries, ladies. I hope you realize I am going to complete this as the ordered duvet cover. It just seems a shame to me. Feels incomplete somehow. But I'm not about to do it again so I can quilt one!

I used to have a duvet cover that was quilted on top (with batting) and I used the down comforter in it in winter then took it out and used just duvet covet in warmer weather.

But for a customer I agree with the "ask first" rule LOL
