I laid out the blocks without any sashing so you could see what it would look like as is. What do you think Now?
I'm not a fan of the colors but it will be a very striking quilt when finished. I say finish it!
Ooops!
I made a mistake. It isn't Marti Michell templates I have. They are ARDCO templates. Still plan to make them some day. |
I like the all black background. If you want the sunflowers a little further apart, try doing sashing in the same fabric as the background. Those golden flowers will really pop.
The colors never do turn out right for me in my pictures. The background sure looks black from here but it is actually hunter green. Thanks for all the comments. I will keep sewing till I get er done. I appreciate all the good feedback you've all given. It always helps me to hear what others think and how something HITS them. You know what I mean. The first thing you think when you see something.

I THINK YOU SHOULD CHUCK IT AWAY. CHUCK IT MY WAY. I LIVE IN MAINE. I LOVE IT. ITS A KEEPER
I love it and colors are good to show off the flower. All I can say is WOW, that is going to make a stuning quilt.

You go girl!
I like it. It looks like a sunflower to me and would make a lovely fall lap quilt or wall hanging.
What's the name of the pattern? Are all of the yellow pieces applique?
They look great all together like that. |
I was thinking that some brown or rust from the flower pedals would make a nice color for the sashing. Hope that's the color of the pedals, it is hard to tell true colors from digital pix sometimes.
I think its very pretty, keep it and finish the quilt.
I saw one by that pattern today at quilt guild. We had a trunk show and the speaker had made one. She used a light background, but I love yours. I bet her quilt had 25 blocks. It was very eye catching. go for it.
the pattern she is using is called the 3d dollie it is verry difficult you are doing great on it i would keep going i have one i need to pick up from my quilter but the roads have been closed arround here for three days just got open this afternoon but they are saying more snow tonight i would make the center a dfferant color than the pedals i will post one of my block later on have a lot to do with the quilt you are doing the seem need to be exact or it will not lay properly i had to redo some of my blocks two or three times to get tham to lay right but it was well worth it in the end
I love the blocks with no sashing. The flowers just seem to float. Make more blocks if you need a bigger size. Beautiful!

Check out this blog. she has the same quilt on it. it is beautiful. |
Not gaudy---beautiful! Keep going! Can't wait to see finished quilt.

The colors are just fine. I would use a light color for sashing since the green is so dark.
Never stop you have a great beginning. will be pretty
I like it but I think sashing is needed.
