Just finished a girls top and would like to use the minky on the back. Is it difficult to work with?

They are so cute! I love the ruffle.

The baby quilt I sewed the pinned the ruffle to the top side and pinned the backing face down on that, then "birthed" it and stitched the end closed. (Does that make sense?) the bigger one I had sandwiched before I remembered the ruffle so I pulled back the backing added the ruffle on the top and turned the seam to the back and stitched the back over it.

This minke with easy to work with. The baby quilt I basted on the kitchen table. The bigger quilt I taped to a wall and spray basted the front to the back. I did not use batting so that was one step I could skip.

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm working on a quilt for a soon-to-be-born baby boy right now. I purchased minky not sure what I would do with it, but after seeing your little newborn quilt I'm definitely going to back with it, without batting. What size did you make the baby quilt? It looks just perfect and I wasn't sure how big (actually, small!) to make it.

IQ, here are pictures of the baby boy quilts we made in December. We did not use batting again, and we didn't ruffle the satin. I'm sure there's a more pro way to do all this, this way works for us. I taped the minkey to a wall, right side facing the wall, and lightly sprayed it with fabric glue. Then I had the top folded into quarters and I laid it over the sprayed back a quarter at a time. She wanted it quilted in squares but often my girls don't even quilt them. They turn out nice and snuggly.

For our grand son, he gets the big quilt and his sisters each got a smaller one(which you see) for their dolls.

Cute, and great idea about the doll quilts. Our little fellow is going to have 2 "big" sisters.

What size are the baby quilts, please? That's my biggest challenge at this point, not having any recent baby experience.
