Your quilts are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing

You do very well with your meandering/stippling. When you can be relaxed enough to keep the spacing quite large, the quilt is warmer.
The first time I really put an effort into stippling, added to my "control issues" ... I got the stitching so dense and close together that you could take that queen sized quilt with two fingers and hold it up and it would stay out straight ... no warm fuzzies in that quilt! LOL If you are going to try something new, the tutorial on "over the top feathers" will be very helpful to you. I am currently quilting a double wedding ring quilt and having read the tutorial, I was able to translate that onto the quilting frame/machine set up I have. I even got brave enough to put a few ribbons and bows into the quilting because of that tutorial ... The more you quilt, the more you will try, the more creative you will get. I think you are doing a very fine job. Keep up the good work! And, thanks for sharing. It is such an encouragement to see how others get their work done, and such an inspiration to see their color combinations, etc. |
Thank you all so much for your very kind comments. I've go that "warm & fuzzy" feeling. It does mean a lot when someone you don't know gives nice comments and constructive advice. You are all really nice people.
Thank you again, Dianne |
The last 4 are awesome as well. I love the brown one and the bread bag one is very interesting to me. It brought back the memory of women, like my mom, using the feed bags for fabric. Great job of quilting.

Beautiful Dianne - I love your fabric choices and your quilting is excellent. The pieced star and the Japanese hanging are my faves but I also love the bread bag one - I was reminded of the feed sacks used by pioneers. I'm a sucker for all those oldy worldy packaging items, advertising boards etc - it's so nostalgic and a quilt is a great way to preserve the memory.
