mine is a tortie lalac point, she's such an awesome friendly girl, we rescued her because she was being neglected, and the original owners were going to kill her. She's the most lovable girl I could ever imagine, and it's hard to believe somebody wouldn't want her. She's tiny tiny, about 5 lbs, and she's about 3 or 4 years old now.

Wow! Love your quilt. I would never of thought to put faux fur on the back of it. VERY COOL. Or should I say warm. It looks so soft.

Ohhh, very pretty. The fur on the back makes me want to curl up in it. Bet it's soft. Your kitty is so cute.

Very pretty!! I'll have to try that faux fur that I've got stashed somewhere.

Truly beautiful! Cozy-looking, too!

Love the fabric, recognise it from a project a friend of mine did a few years ago.

How did you get the backing to sit so well?? I love it.

Oooo, that's really pretty and looks so cumfy to snuggle up too! Smart kitty!

The faux fur backing was surprisingly easy. It was a couch throw originally, with a front and back but it was only sewn on the edges, so wasn't quilted. I undid the seams to seperate the two pieces, laid the faux fur piece flat and spray basted it to the top.

That might be the trick actually, there's no batting in this one.

And I random quilted in the ditch. The stitching "flattened" the fur on the back, but over time it's worked loose so it's fluffy all over again and you can't see any stitching on the back.

I wish I'd made it bigger, the kids (and cats) just love it.

I don't know how people can do that sort of thing. And good job for taking her in! :-) Siamese have the most awesome personalitys. Would love to see a picture of yours if possible.

This wee girl we have has a horrific heart murmur and probably shouldn't be alive. The breeder fought like a madwoman to keep her alive when she was born, supplement feeding, etc, not realising that nature was probably right. The only sign something was wrong was her size, she was so much smaller than the others, but it was assumed she was just a runt.

She didn't have the heart to have her euthanased once the murmur was discovered, the kitten had so much courage and spirit. She was first into the food bowls, would quite happily push her siblings aside so she got the best teat, and was the first to storm round the house climbing furniture and getting into mischief! She has a couple of other issues, but she's not suffering or in any pain, so as long as she wants to live she can stay here and be spoiled rotten. There's not much that can be done for her medically, it's just a matter of time. But she's loving her life, and she's happy, what more could you want really. :-)

Love the quilt!

The kitten is too cute! Reminds me of my Sam I had. He was given to my by my aunt. She bred Seal Points. I wanted one of her babies soooo bad, she finally gave in and let me have him. He was fearless...would go after the dogs in the yard and chase the chickens. lol
He passed away from a broken heart. I joined the Army and Mom said that he curled up in her lap one day and just let out a sigh and was gone. Broke my heart....
I'll get another one day, once I stop rescuing the ones I get now lol
All my cats have been rescued in one way or another.....
