sewlo, I love them. Talk about looking like stain glass, these do. Are all your strips the same size? I have never like these type of blocks because the distraction in the center because all the strips do match, but yours is different. It must be because you have added the black sashing between each block. I have all kinds of small strip, I am going to use this technique for make quilts for a large picture window.
Did you quilt them and how did you hange them? |

Gorgeous! Not only do you get the stained glass effect, but the insulated advantage of having it hung up keeps it warmer inside. It would also give me a happy feeling each time I walked into the room, as the colors are beautiful.

Wow! That is all I can can about this gorgeous quilt.

Beautiful way to keep warm and show off lovely quilts at the same time.

Reminds me of stained galss windows. Beautiful work!! The black really makes the blocks sparkle!

My BIL placed screws in a 2x4 that we placed over the woodwork of the sliders, we then hung Hang-Ups over the screws, then hung the quilts. On a nice day I fold the middle sections back which allows plenty of sunlight. I also have a regular door to use so I am not stuck using the slider all the time. The quilts were quilted by Charisma!!!

I used batting with muslin as backing. I am not sre what I am going to do about the fadin issue, I could hang a flannel sheet on the back side, any thoughts?
|
I'm not sure it would fade too much with batting between. I don't think the muslin would fade.
